Welcome to the experience of driving a classic car, which you can collect from our base near Cambridge in the county of Cambridgeshire, England.

For many, the experience of driving a classic car is a dream. If you have found this website we anticipate that it is either your dream or the dream of someone close to you.
So, how do you go about achieving your dream? There are a number of options.
BUY
The first is to buy one. You do not need a vast fortune to get into the world of classic car ownership. But which one to go for? There is quite a choice at sensible money. Don't just take our word for it. Watch this clip of Dave Mathewson of Bangers and Cash fame, if you need any convincing.
As you can see from this short film, the MGB is a very sensible option. The car was in production for 18 years. Over that time there were a number of different generations and two body style options. This can make a considerable difference to your driving experience. For example, did you know that the windscreen of the GT is taller than the roadster, thus giving greater headroom inside the car.
Borrow
Classic car ownership does however come with the practical reality of not only the purchase cost, but also running expenses and storage requirements. If that is a step too far the ideal solution is surely to treat yourself or a loved one every once in a while by borrowing a car belonging to somebody else.
We appreciate that borrowing a car may not always be possible. This leads us to option 3.
Hire
To find the right car for you to purchase, without making a decision you might later regret, a very sensible option we think is to hire one for a day or so and see how it suits you.

Drives of Yesteryear was founded in 2017. We began by providing chauffeur driven classic cars for weddings. We quickly realised that motoring enthusiasts, who enjoy the experience of driving, often aspire to taking to the wheel of a classic car. We began initially by offering our MGB GT for weddings and over time have developed and grown the business to what you will see here today.
Introducing the Cars
At the heart of our fleet are our two MGB's. We have a roadster built in the last few days of 1968 and a GT dating from 1974, to give you the option of both body styles of this ubiquitous classic sports car. Move forward a couple of decades and you arrive at the MGF. Our 2001 example is rather special and represents the final version before the arrival of the MG TF.
For those who love cars from further afield, our Ford Mustang surely fits the bill.

NEW FOR 2027
Mk 2 VW Golf GTI Campaign
The Limited edition Campaign model (also known as the One in Ten Million special edition) was launched in the spring of 1988 to celebrate the production of 10 million VW Golfs.16,500 were made in total, with 8,000 staying in Germany while the rest went for export worldwide.
The UK cars were all GTIs and were available in a choice of only 3 metallic colours of Helios Blue, Metallic Black or Oak Green. There are no records of the number of cars that came to the UK, but it is estimated there were less than a 1,000 of each colour.
There were 3 and 5 door variants, and 8v and 16v engine choices so, if for example this was an equal split, that would make potentially only 250 in each combination. This Oak Green, 5 door, 8 valve version was therefore a rare car when new and is super rare now. It is truly a treat of a driving experience.
